Getting Started on Your Personal Makeover Journey

Creating the "New You" requires direction, focus and a commitment to develop new habits.
All goal achievement begins with these three principles:
- Evaluate where you are.
- Determine your goal.
- Decide the steps you need to take to succeed.

|
Step 1: Where Are You Now.
What am I starting with. Take a personal inventory of your current lifestyle and habits. Listing your likes and dislikes in all major areas of your life, will help you get a global picture of who you are now and what areas you need to change for personal improvement. Make a list of all the areas you feel need improvement, challenges you have in social situations, personal appearance, financial, career and any life pondering questions you want answers to. This will give you a spring board of ideas for step 2.
Ideas
- Take Before Pictures - If you are making over yourself or your surroundings, start by taking a before picture.
- Log Measurements - Whether it be your physical appearance, redesign your living space or revamping your finances, determine how you are going to measure your success by writing down where you stand now.
- Tracking System - How can you know when you have reached your goal unless you have a way to track your progress. BEGIN NOW by taking the time to balance the check book or weigh yourself. You need a starting point and a way to track your progress.
Step 2 Where Do You Want To Go
|
Step 2: Where Do You Want To Go.
Where am I going?
Now that you have decided which areas of your life are working and which need improvement decide your destination. Do you need to lose weight, how much do you want to weigh? When you lose the weight imagine how you would feel and what you would do. WRITE IT DOWN. Are you out of shape or do you need dental work? Maybe your confidence, financial situation or spiritual life need a lift? Be clear about the results you would like to see in all areas of your life:
- Spiritual
- Physical
- Family
- Financial
- Lifestyle
|
Step 3: Set a workable plan.
How am I going to get there?
Once you know where you want to go, you are more than on your way to getting there. How will you find your way to success without a road map! Set Goals and take baby steps to get there.
- Goal setting is a crucial part of getting yourself started on a journey to self improvement by helping you determine your priorities. Follow a mentor or someone who has experienced what you want to accomplish
